This place is well known for its Tussar Silk Weavingand is among very few villages received International Awards for its incredible Handmade Tussar Silk weaving technique which percolated from one generation to the other without losing its originality. Since Nepura is the only place in the world of such kind that’s why it has been adopted by Indian government to protect and promote its legacy across the globe and attract more and more tourists to experience this wonder. The weaving work is done by mostly Tati Community. Pit loom silk weaving and tight reeling are main craft techniques. Raw material used like Tussar cocoon once converted into Tussar Silk is stitched here by well trained female tailors which can keep one engaged for a good span of time.
Nepura have been the main region which organically produced Rice and Potato that too with once a record highest production in the world. Here farmers plough using traditional techniques for growing organic crops and fruits.

Around 250 families live in Nepua Village and it’s really commendable that 50 families out of them practice Tussar Silk Weaving. The weaving work is done by mostly Tati Community. Apart from Silk weaving people others depend mostly on agriculture and produce mainly organic crops and fruits.

Local Fair and Festival Galore
The most pious festival celebrated here is Chhath pooja. It is also celebrated in many parts of India. The festival is celebrated twice a year mainly during October / November and later during March. Pilgrims from all over the world gather at the banks of nearby rivers and worship the god. Men and Women together decorate their houses and keep fast for two days and offer fruits & flowers to the God.
